Gillian Lewis

Club: BPW Adelaide – SA





Gillian has been a BPW Member for 27 years, and has been active at local, national and international levels.  She is a Past President of BPW Adelaide and BPW South Australia, most recently serving as State Representative on the Board.  Gillian was a BPW International delegate for BPW Australia, attending 3 BPWI Congresses and the Commission on the Status of Women in New York

Gillian has been recognised on the South Australian Women's Honour Roll and is the 2023 recipient of the BPW Australia Jean Arnot Award. She is a social worker and policy advisor by profession, advocate and organiser by passion.

Gillian graduated in Social Work and has a Diploma of Teaching and Early Childhood Education. She was President of the Playgroup Association SA and currently serves on the Board of the Australia Day Council of SA. She founded and is Co-convenor of the Adelaide White Ribbon Breakfast and is Secretary on the White Ribbon SA Committee.

Gillian has extensive experience and expertise across the health, disability, early childhood and community services sectors, working within teams and leading teams. She spent many years as a Senior Policy Advisor to SA Health, serving on and working with a number of government boards and committees, and liaising with and advising ministers and sector leaders.  Now semi-retired, she facilitates in the Gender Consortium international women's empowerment program at Flinders University.

Gillian is keen to bring her policy expertise, leadership experience, knowledge of governance and government, consultation and collaboration skills to the role of President.

A former BPW Caboolture President and QLD State Representative, Trish, a Fellow of BPWA, champions the Keys To Achievement program.

Trish coaches introverts, authors, and executives, fostering enhanced communication and confidence. Her accolades include the 2018 BPW North Lakes Inspirational Woman Award and the 2016 Women World Awards Mentor of the Year. Ronnie is passionate about creating a equitable, environmentally aware and fair society.  She was born in India and moved to Australia as an adult for work. 

Ronnie works in the training and consulting space, delivering workshops in risk management, food safety and  quality management systema. She has management experience, a well-rounded skill set and a collaborative approach. As a facilitator, Ronnie has experience working effectively with a wide range of people and has well-honed communication skills.

Ronnie has appreciated working with organisations which provided plenty of opportunities to develop different skills, and continuously works towards extending her skill set.

Helen Toon





Helen has been an BPW member since 2016, serving as Secretary of BPW Joondalup-Wanneroo from June 2017 to July 2019 and Club President from August 2019 to June 2021.  She continues to play an active part on the executive committee.

Helen has been Director of Finance for BPW Australia since October 2021, seeking a new challenge on completion of her MBA. She has worked in a range of management roles for a large aged care provider in WA. Providing advice on risk, compliance, insurance, quality management, developing and completing internal audits. Identifying areas for and driving continuous improvement. Invoice payment and financial reconciliation of client accounts. She is currently a Work Health and Safety Manager.  Prior to emigrating to Australia in 2013, Helen worked for the UK Government as a Senior Learning and Development Manager, where she was responsible for the development of training for Jobcentre Plus. Jacqueline Graham

National President for two terms, 2018 - 2023, Jacqueline joined BPW in 2012, and was elected to the  Board in 2013 as Victorian State Representative. She is a Board Member of AGEC (Australian Gender Equality Council), a member of the National  Foundation of Australian Women, the Association of Women in Operations and an Associate Member of AHRI.

With more than 20 years professional leadership experience in corporate and franchise retail and sales organisations, beginning her working life as an analytical chemist, Jacqueline has succeeded in business in New Zealand, the UK and Australia.  Currently working with  independent Paint Specialists in a National Business Performance Management role, she has worked with businesses large and small in strategic and operational leadership, including National Operations roles.

Harmony Moxham

Harmony is a highly qualified Young BPW, boasting a diverse educational background. She holds a Bachelor of Creative Arts from Wollongong University, a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Macquarie University, and a Bachelor of Computer Science, demonstrating her multidisciplinary expertise.

Since 2021, Harmony has served as the Young BPW Representative, showcasing her commitment to the organisation's values and mission. Her dedication was recognised when she was nominated for the Young BPW Award in 2022.

Deborah Fay

Club: Caboolture - QLD 




Deborah Fay is an author and contributing author to a number of books including '6 Keys to Happiness' and 'Grow Up – 13 ways to improve emotional intelligence at home and at school'. 
 Deborah has been in business for most of her adult life. Currently, she is the founder and CEO of Disruptive Publishing Services, where she has helped more than 250 aspiring authors to realise their dreams of becoming published.  

With a background in counselling, Deborah teaches authors how to work through their stories and articulate them so that they can be turned into beautiful books that engage, educate, inspire, and move their readers. 

Community is one of Deborah’s highest values. She has had various roles within different organisations in the community including BPW Caboolture, the Moreton Bay Central Chamber of Commerce and the Asperger's Syndrome Support Network. Jean Murray

Club: Adelaide - SA 





Jean has been a BPW member for 35 years and has served BPW at local, state, national and international levels.  She is a Past President of BPW Adelaide and BPW South Australia, a Past Vice President Policy and Executive Secretary of BPW Australia, and a Past Executive Secretary and Resolutions Chair of BPW International. She has an extensive knowledge of women's policy and governance and reviewed and reformed the Constitutions of both BPWI and BPWA during her Executive Secretary terms.

Jean has a medical scientist background and is a Doctor of Public Health.  She was a Principle Policy Adviser to state and federal governments in bioethically contentious policy areas such as reproductive medicine and genetics.  Since leaving government, she has been an adjunct academic teaching in the post-graduate MBA program for the Flinders University Medical School and in the Gender Consortium international women's empowerment program.  bpwsa@bpw.com.au

Carole Shaw

Club: Melbourne - VIC





Carole has been a member of the BPW Melbourne Club since 2007 and has attended BPW International (BPWI) Congresses, Regional and National Conferences. She is currently a BPWI Human Rights Standing Committee Member – Chair of the Human Rights Group and has worked with BPWI at Commission of the Status of Women (CSW) and attended meetings in New York. Carol is on the BPW Congress 2024 team.

With a focus on human rights and gender equality, Carole is highly skilled in Gender Policy, International Relations, International Policy, Nonprofit Organisations, Government, Program Evaluation , Lecturing, Grass Roots Activism and Volunteer Management. Kate Waters

Club: BPW Perth - WA





Kate has actively served in leadership roles with BPW, Internationally, she represented BPW Australia as a delegate at the Mexico Congress in 2008 and United Nations Women - Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) in New York in 2010. She attended multiple Congresses in 2002, 2005, and 2011.

Nationally, Kate served as WA Division President and State Representative from 2016 to 2018. Additionally, she chaired PDGP and participated as a Conference Delegate in various locations.

At the state and club level, Kate held roles as President, Membership, Treasurer and Secretary and attended events in multiple regions.

Kate's career spanned administration, recruitment, and assisting in special needs education. She held significant roles in national, state, and local organisations, contributed notably to initiatives serving as a committee member with Belmont Business Enterprise Centre Inc. and Textile Clothing Footwear Resource Centre of WA , and Refuge Week.             bpwwa@bpw.com.au
