The Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) are a set of Principles for business offering guidance on how to empower women in the workplace, marketplace and community. The principles cover:
Female participation rates in the labour force, whilst improving, are still below that of males’ by 12.3 per cent. The Grattan Institute has reported that a 6% rise in female participation would increase the size of the Australian economy by around $25 billion a year. Our objective at BPW Melbourne is to encourage local businesses to sign up to the global WEPs promoting the advancement of women in public life.
