• Over the last three years, BPW Margaret River has achieved a great deal. We are very lucky to belong to a community with interesting women who generously share their time and resources, and come to our meetings regularly.
During 2004 and 2005 we helped with the donation of goods to Sri Lanka via BPW Western Australia.
In September 2005, MargaretRiver was selected as the location for the BPW Western Australia 20th Biennial Conference.
Early last year, we held a cocktail and networking evening targeting new women in the town offering them the opportunity to meet members. Several members attended the BPW WA Conference in Perth in October 2006 and once again Anne Shepherdson offered her home for our Christmas get together. |

| • To regenerate the club, it was decided we should go ahead and see if we could raise community awareness and recognition of BPW by holding networking functions. The goal was to send 16 to 20 high school girls to the inspirational International Women’s Day event. With assistance from Michelle Miller, club member and WA State President; the Margaret River Hotel; and Holly Shepherdson, Anne’s daughter and a talented musician who spent a long time in Indonesia assisting Tsunami victims, we held several networking functions and achieved our goal. |

|
| • The six hour bus journey and attending the International Women’s Day function in Perth, featuring incredibly inspirational young women including Young BPW Alicia Curtis, gave the girls another perspective and the opportunities available to them. |
|
|
| • We are currently collecting sewing fabrics and tools for the community sewing project in the Philippines.
At our July dinner meeting we met the amazing Young BPW, Alicia Curtis, who shared her story and helped us try to find a way to grow our club.
