About Maitland
Maitland is a major city in the heart of the Hunter Valley, located 163 km north of Sydney and 32 km north-west of Newcastle. Maitland has a picturesque riverine landscape with numerous well preserved historic buildings, testament to the wealth of the City during its early years of development. There is something for everyone within Maitland. It is a destination where you may choose to rejuvenate and enjoy the simple pleasures of fresh locally grown produce, speciality wines and a walking tour of the heritage landscape. Whilst others may choose a faster pace taking an aerobatic or Tiger Moth joy flight, immersing themselves in the local nightlife, sampling a series of local restaurants and cocktails

Maitland BPW
BPW Maitland welcomes all new members who have an interest in pursuing issues affecting women in our community, and who are interested in trying to make a difference. Our monthly meetings provide a stimulating and informative environment for members and have a purpose to provide a forum for networking and socialising, and to focus on the continuing education of our members through the guest speakers

Main Membership Options
Club Members are members of their Club, their Division and BPWA and pay full fees. They have voting rights at Club, Division and national level and receive BPWA and Division newsletters. This is the most common form of BPW membership.
Members at Large are members of their own Division and BPWA but pay only those portions. MALs are the responsibility of the Division VPIP. When a number of MALs have joined from a particular area, endeavours should be made to establish a club in the locality and encourage Club Membership. Divisions should inform Clubs of their MALs so they can be invited to BPW events and functions in their locality. MALs have voting rights at Division and national level and receive BPWA and Division newsletters. BPWA provides the national newsletter and all other contact is through the Division.
Associate Members (Friends) is a category that recognises the financial restrictions on certain groups of women and since their input is valued, offers half fees. This may be a short term arrangement for a member until she rejoins as a Club Member. This arrangements means that BPWA can purport to represent all women and their issues, not just those who can afford to pay their full dues to the organisation. Associate Members have no voting rights but receive BPWA and Division newsletters.
Keep in Touch (KIT) membership is offered to members taking leave of absence for reasons such as pregnancy, study, relocation or overload, but encourages them to stay in touch with the Club. These members are more likely to rejoin when their situation changes if their Club has kept them informed of BPW activities. KIT members have no voting rights and receive newsletters and minutes at the discretion of their Club.
