Main Membership Options
Club Members are members of BPW International, BPW Australia and of their Club. They have voting rights at Club, and national level and receive BPWA newsletters. This is the most common form of BPW membership.
Members at Large or Independent Members are members of BPWA but do not have an affiliation with a Club due to there being no Club conveniently located for them. When a number of MALs have joined from a particular area, endeavours should be made to establish a club in the locality and encourage Club Membership. MALs have voting rights at a national level and receive BPWA newsletters.
Associate Members (Friends) is a category that recognises the financial restrictions on certain groups of women and since their input is valued, offers half fees. This may be a short term arrangement for a member until she rejoins as a Club Member. This arrangements means that BPWA can purport to represent all women and their issues, not just those who can afford to pay their full dues to the organisation. Associate Members have no voting rights but receive BPWA and Division newsletters.
Keep in Touch (KIT) membership is offered to members taking leave of absence for reasons such as pregnancy, study, relocation or overload, but encourages them to stay in touch with the Club. These members are more likely to rejoin when their situation changes if their Club has kept them informed of BPW activities. KIT members have no voting rights and receive newsletters and minutes at the discretion of their Club.
