Genevieve Cother, Young BPW Award Winner 2007 |
The
Australia Young BPW Award
The Australian
Young BPW Award is the cornerstone of the Young BPW (previously
Young Career Woman) program within Australia. The Young BPW
Award is part a growth and development program aimed at assisting
young women to reach their potential through mentoring and
other developmental opportunities.
The Award is
certainly one worth striving for. It brings recognition for
a commandos contribution to BPW, her career success to date,
and her potential. It also provides public speaking and promotional
opportunities for BPW and offers the candidate the chance
to attend a BPW International event - the significance of
which cannot be overstated.
Additionally,
the award candidate increases their confidence and networks
through both personal and professional development, promotion
and implementation of programs and activities to encourage
other young women in career and professional growth.
The Australian
Young BPW Award is awarded every three years, at the BPW Australia
Conference. The Young BPW Award Winner 2007 is Genevieve Cother from BPW Kalamunda, WA. Genevieve will be assisted by BPW Australia to attend an international
event for BPW which is likely to be the BPW International Congress being held in Mexico City, Mexico in October 2008.
Purpose
The Award
acknowledges a young woman for both her BPW and career achievements, as well as recognising her potential in both arenas.
It is an award that recognises a good all-rounder, a woman
who is both achieving success in her chosen path and who is
committed to raising the status of women through her work
with BPW. Career success certainly does not mean she has reached
the top of the tree, but that she is progressing well for
her age.
