BPW is about bringing like-minded, intelligent women together to
build a network of associates with a common interest in matters
concerning women in their community. If you are interested
in forming a Club in your community – be it a suburb, a town
or a city, then please feel free to contact the BPWA President or
the Director of Operations through the BPW Head Office on 03-9895

To become an
affiliated Club with BPW Australia, a BPW Club must have 15
members at the time of its inauguration. Therefore the first
step must be to bring together like-minded women who are seeking
the support, mentoring, and social activity which BPW provides. |
| 2. |
Gather information
about BPW from the BPW Head Office for presentation to the
attendees. |
| 3. |
Seek a mentor BPW Club
to guide you through the process. |
| 4. |
Organise a meeting at a
private venue, usually a restaurant with a private room, and
see if there is sufficient support to move forward. Publicise
the meeting in the local paper. Call for expressions of interest
to attend and keep a register of all attendees, and their contact
details. |
| 5. |
Have a structured Agenda
for the meeting, and organise an interesting guest speaker. |
| 6. |
Nominate one person to
act as the Chair. |
| 7. |
Make sure the cost of the dinner
includes any additional expenses incurred, such as the advertising
and a gift for the guest speaker. |
| 8. |
Anticipate it may take
three or four meetings before you are in a position to decide
whether you wish to proceed any further and to charter a Club.
Usually the BPW meetings are held monthly, with an Executive
meeting held mid-month to handle additional business, and ensure
the monthly meeting is well organised. |
| 9. |
Advise the BPWA Director of Operations, BPW HO, and your mentor BPW
Club, of your activities and your intentions. |
| 10. |
Discuss with the BPWA Director of Operation the plans
to charter the Club. This will involve having the prerequisite
number of members, setting a date, inviting BPW executive members
and “launching” the Club. You will also need to have a Committee
established to run the Club, and have decided what your Club
fees will be. Your Mentor Club can assist with this discussion.
Fees must be paid to the to BPW Australia. The
set amounts of this portion of your fees can be obtained from
BPW HO. |
