Welcome to the home of BPW Australia, part of the global network of BPW International

Our focus is on issues that affect women and work, and we welcome as members women in paid and voluntary work, including women who used to work and women who aspire to work. Our members are drawn from a wide range of working women: employers and employees, corporate women and small business women, women in professions and trades, and from the non-profit and government sectors. They give their time and passion to support our campaigns, run projects and drive change that's good for women and the world. Much of this work is done through BPW clubs across Australia – the heart of BPW.  The clubs are also where women find friendship, networking and the good times for which BPW Australia is also renowned. Membership of BPW Australia gives you access to scholarships, awards, conferences and discounts.  ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Equal Pay Day 2015

Based on today’s Average Weekly Earnings (AWE) data, Equal Pay Day falls on Friday 4 September this year. The Workplace Gender Equality Agency fact sheet Gender workplace statistics at a glance has been updated with the latest Average Weekly Earnings (AWE) data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics 13th August 2015.

Using the traditional methodology of the difference between men’s and women’s wages, expressed as a percentage of men’s wages, the Agency calculates the national gender pay gap to be 17.9%. This represents a difference of $284.20 in earnings per week.
